What is your instruction method?

What kind of courses can I take?
Courses in leadership, management, technical, or compliance can be taken without any restrictions. For the most current list of courses offered, please refer to our Catalog. Additionally, our architecture is designed to dynamically create and deliver multi-media web pages; therefore, any of your courses can be converted and delivered through our LCMS (Learning Content Management System).

How are your courses different from your competitors?
We have a patent-pending methodology that is very effective and is based on years of research and best practices. All of our courses are interactive and flexible, which makes learning fun, effective, and efficient. We provide blended learning as well as collaborative learning.

What is the duration of each course?
From the date you start the course, you have 6 weeks to complete it. Depending on the course, each one is designed to take from 5 to 15 clock hours to
complete. Although you may determine your own pace,
for optimal benefit we recommend you pace yourself through each lesson, participating in the Community Forum and integrating the skills chosen from each lesson into your daily life using
the skill-building tools provided. We suggest that you pace yourself
to complete the online course within 3-5 weeks of your start date. This
would mean spending approximately 15-30 minutes each day, 3-5 days a week. If not completed 6 weeks from the start date the course expires and will need to be purchased again in order to get your certificate.

Will I get a course certificate?
Yes. Upon successful course completion, you will receive an online, printable certificate from Empowered Training Centre, LLC. The certificate will indicate
the number of clock hours of training you have completed and the equivalent
number of CEUs (Continuing Education Units) accumulated.

Can I take the courses anytime of the day or week?
Yes. You may take the online courses 24 x 7, except for a brief period once a week when we will be updating and adding new courses. This scheduled enhancement period begins at 11:00 PM Saturday until 2:00 AM Sunday (Central Time).

Is there an inactivity time-out?
Yes. If you are inactive for more than 20 minutes, your session will end and you will be logged out automatically.

What happens if I close the browser and forget to log out?
You will not be allowed to log in until the inactivity time logs you out automatically (approximately 20-30 minutes).

Am I the only one that can use my User ID and Password?
Yes. If someone tries to log in using your User ID and Password, they will get a Login Error message. The course certificate and transcript are learner specific.

What happens if I need help while taking a course?
You are never more than a mouse-click or a phone call away when you need help. Online help is available via our email, and telephone assistance is available via our Help Desk.

Can we track and measure progress and get reports on course enrollment information?
Yes. We currently have reports available for the learner as well as for management. These reports track enrollment, completion, and progress within a given course. Key features include:
a. Competency levels measured and reported to allow management to make informed decisions on employee placements
b. Customized reports based on client needs
c. Possible integration with a Knowledge Management System and a Human Capital Management System

Can we only participate in self-paced learning or can we interact and collaborate with other learners?
We support both modes of learning. We have integrated interaction and collaboration within our self-paced courses. We have the capability to designate a group that will interact among themselves or allow open interaction among all learners within the course.

Can we conduct live elearning classroom sessions?
Yes. We can customize a specific course to be deployed over the Internet through a web-conferencing application.

How can I update my profile?
Once you have logged in, you can access your profile from any page by clicking on My Account and then My Profile. A new learner must select New User on the login page, complete all required fields in the Personal Profile, and select a User ID and password.

How can I be assured of the security of my personal information?
We place an extremely high value on the security of your personal information. We encrypt all name and address information before storing it in our system, and we use 128-bit encryption for all secure communication. We are already compliant with the new California privacy law SB 1386 which became effective July 1, 2003. We are also in compliance with the Canadian Privacy Laws that become effective January 1, 2004.

How do I register and pay for the courses?
You can register and pay for one or more courses in several ways:
a. Register via our website (www.empoweredtraining.com) and pay by credit card
b. Register by phone 972.241.8282 and pay by credit card
c. Register by fax 972.241.8285 and pay by credit card
d. Register by mail: Empowered Training Centre, LLC, 1430 Valwood Pkwy, Suite 110, Carrollton, Texas 75006 and pay by either credit card or by check (personal or company)
e. Subscription-based registration for one or more individuals or a company is available, and various forms of payment can be arranged. Please call or email us for details.

Is it possible for me to pay for the same course twice?
No. When you purchase courses online, you are not able to purchase the same course twice. However, if you want to buy a course again, you may fill out a new user profile with a new User ID and register and pay for the course.

What type of technical requirements are needed to take your courses?
The following are the requirements to fully participate in the courses:
a. Minimum Internet access 56K; high-speed recommended
b. Internet Explorer (IE) Browser 5.0 or later
c. Sound card
d. Macromedia Flash Player 5.0 or later (a free download from www.macromedia.com)
e. QuickTime Player (a free download from www.apple.com/quicktime/)

If you are allowed to browse content through the standard Internet ports, no changes are needed.

We are guided by the major industry standards, such as AICC and SCORM, especially when they apply to how learners interact with the courses.

No. You do not need to install our LCMS locally. You have the following cost effective solutions:
a. Use a browser connected to the Internet to train all your employees
b. License our LCMS and have it externally hosted by your choice of ISP or ASP (Internet or Application Service Provider), or
c. License and install our LCMS in-house in an intranet environment and use it using a web browser, such as Internet Explorer (IE)

Do you have a means of delivering training to employees or students who are not connected to the central system?
Yes. Our LCMS and courses can be licensed and installed to run on a local machine that meets the minimum technical requirements.

Yes. Our LCMS framework is built using open standards, multiple tiers, and through direct interaction with the components or XML, we can integrate it to virtually any in-house system our clients wish to use.
